Profile
Francesca de la Grana was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She attended Tampa Catholic High School and later went on to Florida State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a Minor in Spanish. After FSU, Francesca lived and studied in Spain where she worked with a marketing agency for several months. She then returned to Tampa where she worked for her father, Frank de la Grana, and realized she wanted to pursue a career in the area of criminal law.
She obtained her law degree at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. During her time there, Francesca excelled in the school’s nationally renowned trial advocacy program. She competed in dozens of national and regional mock trial competitions all over the country and was named Regional Champion of the American Association for Justice Trial Competition in 2011. Francesca was later inducted into the prestigious Order of Barristers, a national honorary society for those who demonstrate extraordinary advocacy skills.
After law school, Francesca began her career as an Assistant State Attorney with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. She prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony cases and tried dozens of cases to jury verdict. Through her hard work and dedication, she has gained the respects of judges she has appeared in front of, as well as her fellow colleagues and adversaries.
